Under recruitment project 2009, SSC is inviting applications for the recruitment of 904 Tax Assistants.

Tax Assistant – 904posts (Central Board of Direct Tax-278 ; Central Board of Excise & Customs-626) – Rs.5200 – 20200

Last date 30.10.2009
written examination date 13.12.2009
Eligibility for SSC – Tax Assistant 2009
Education any bachelors degree (any discipline) from a recognized university as on 30.10.2009.must have a computer typing speed of 8000 letters per hour.

The selection for SSC – Tax Assistants has Written test(objective) & Skill Test(typing test).

Written test consists of multiple choice questions on General English (100 marks) & General Awareness(100 marks) for 2hours. and Arithmetic(100 marks) for 2hrs.

The application fee of Rs.100 has to be paid only by 'Central Recruitment Fee Stamps' available at post offices.

President Barack Obama won the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize, which encourage his initiatives to reduce nuclear arms, ease tensions with the Muslim world and stress diplomacy

"Waking up a president in the middle of the night, this isn't really something you do," Jagland said.

The Nobel Committee lauded the change in global mood wrought by Obama's calls for peace and cooperation but recognized initiatives that have yet to bear fruit: reducing the world stock of nuclear arms, easing American conflicts with Muslim nations and strengthening the U.S. role in combating climate change.

The Nelson Mandela Foundation welcomed the award on behalf of its founder Nelson Mandela, who shared the 1993 Peace Prize with then-South African President F.W. DeKlerk for their efforts at ending years of apartheid and laying the groundwork for a democratic country.

"We trust that this award will strengthen his commitment, as the leader of the most powerful nation in the world, to continue promoting peace and the eradication of poverty," the foundation said.

In his 1895 will, Alfred Nobel stipulated that the peace prize should go "to the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between the nations and the abolition or reduction of standing armies and the formation and spreading of peace congresses."
