34th International Kolkata Book Fair 2010

The 34th International Kolkata Book Fair 2010 are going to be held from 27 January to 7 February 2010,

 Last year approximately 1.5 million visitors commuted the fair and total turnover of the participants was roughly rupees 1.7 crores, the last 33rd International Kolkata Book Fair,

The fair, with 650 book stalls comprising books on various fields is being participated by 14 countries including Mongolia, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Romania.

REGIONAL METEOROLOGICAL CENTRE NEW DELHI was started in April 1945,cater the meteorological requirements of the states "Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttranchal"

Minimum temperature recorded early Monday was a notch above average at 8.2 degrees Celsius while the maximum temperature is expected to hover around 14.3 degrees Celsius, which is seven degrees below average for this time of the year.

Sri Lankan Elections Results

Sri Lanka elects on national level a head of state - the president - and a legislature. The president is elected for a six year term by the people. The Parliament has 225 members, elected for a six year term, 196 members elected in multi-seat constituencies through proportional representation system where each party is allocated a number of seats from the quota for each district according to the proportion of the total vote that party obtains in the distirc. The other 29 which is called the national list are appointed by each party secretary according to the island wide proportional vote the party obtains.

Sri Lanka has a multi party system, with two dominant political parties,and with extreme difficulty for anybody to achieve electoral success under the banner of any other party.
