Full name Mahendra Singh Dhoni

Also known as Mahi

Born July 7, 1981, Ranchi

Current age 28 years 165 days

Batting style Right-hand bat

Bowling style Right-arm medium

Fielding position Wicketkeeper

A poor start from the batsmen and the failure to get early wickets by the bowlers cost India the second ODI, MS Dhoni, their captain, has said. Dhoni scored a century after the early loss of Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir, taking India to 301, but Sri Lanka, boosted by a second successive ton from Tillakaratne Dilshan, sealed a three-wicket win in the final over.

Dhoni
admitted poor fielding was also a factor in India's failure to defend a competitive score. "This team is the best in batting and we have the best bowlers, but we are not the best fielding side in the world," he said. "We need to score 20 more runs to make up for the fielding lapses." There were several misfields and fumbles when India were fielding, and one that virtually sealed a Sri Lankan victory came in the penultimate over. Zaheer Khan, fielding at mid-on, allowed a drive from Angelo Mathews go through his legs to the boundary to bring the equation down to four runs off eight balls,

copenhagen summit

Posted: 18 Dec 2009 06:30 PM PST

copenhagen, copenhagen summit on climate change, copenhagen news, copenhagen climate, copenhagen climate summit,

After ten days of talks, uncertainty looms over the Copenhagen summit—and, some might say, the fate of the planet. Negotiations remain deadlocked as fundamental divisions remain between rich and poor countries. A draft agreement drawn up by a small group of countries, including the US, was dismissed overnight by developing nations. President Obama arrived early this morning to join nearly 120 other world leaders at the summit. In a much anticipated address, Obama offered no new proposals to address the demands of developing countries.

As the fifth speaker, President Barack Obama took the floor in the plenary. He stressed that he did not come to talk, but to act.

Being the world largest economy and second largest emitter of greenhouse gases, America has a responsibility, he said, and added that America would continue to move toward a green economy "but we will be stronger if we act together," he said.
In 2012 the Kyoto Protocol to prevent climate changes and global warming runs out. To keep the process on the line there is an urgent need for a new climate protocol. At the conference in Copenhagen 2009 the parties of the UNFCCC meet for the last time on government level before the climate agreement need to be renewed.
Here are the prepared remarks of President Barack Obama's address at COP15. The speech was delivered two hours late, after last-minute negotiations with nearly 20 world leaders. Obama included a few telling ad-libs such as stating that the pieces of an accord "should now be" instead of "are" clear.

Institute of Rural Management Anand IRMA irma anand irma results 2010

IRMA was established in 1979 at Anand, Gujarat with the support of the Swiss Agency for Development Cooperation (SDC), the Government of India, the Government of Gujarat, erstwhile Indian Dairy Corporation and the National Dairy Development Board to provide management education, training, research and consultancy support to co-operatives and rural development organisations in India.

IRMA is founded with the belief, borne out by Dr.Kurien's work in the dairy co-operatives which revolutionised the dairy industry in the country, that the key for effective rural development is professional management. Professionalising the management of rural organisations calls for matching the specific but unmet needs of the sector with the formal techniques and skills of management professionals. Linking the two are the 'rural managers' prepared by IRMA through its two-years diploma (PRM) in rural management.

IRMA is a pioneering academic institution in rural management education and research. Many good stand-alone programmes of business management and development are available in India today. IRMA's PRM integrates the two streams and equips talented men and women with both development perspectives and business acumen. IRMA recognises that institutions working for rural development operate in a complex environment, in which there is a far greater need for professional management. IRMA trains talented men and women through a well-structured two-year Postgraduate Programme in Rural Management, with a purpose of empowering themto undertake challenging responsibilities in development and producers' organisations with the right ethical values.

IRMA facilitates meaningful placement opportunities for its students. IRMAns are highly valued by national and international development organisations, funding agencies, co-operatives and NGOs. The placements combine job satisfaction and decent compensation. PRM 2006-08 participants received an average annual salary of Rs. 6.13 lakh (highest being Rs. 10.61 lakh) with 100 per cent placement. Some participants prefer to join grass-roots organisations with low salaries over high-paying jobs for greater challenges, innovative experimentation and higher autonomy.
